As an adult ‘Third Culture Kid’, I have had the privilege of growing up across diverse regions, including Asia, the Middle East, West Africa, and the United Kingdom. These experiences have profoundly shaped my perspective, fostering a deep appreciation for different cultures, a strong desire to understand and connect with others, and a genuine passion for collaborating with people from all walks of life. I have an active lifestyle and value having fun. I enjoy exploring the outdoors through walks in the park, running through different neighbourhoods, and spending days on the beach whenever possible. My passion for fitness includes boxing and Muay Thai, alongside other hobbies such as reading fantasy books and Psychology books, visiting cafes, and propagating plants.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London. After graduation, I gained invaluable experience at a major hospital in the Philippines, where I interned in the Memory Department of the Institute for Neurosciences. There, I had the privilege of shadowing psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, and speech pathologists working with patients facing cognitive impairments, including traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer’s disease, and psychological disorders such as schizophrenia and depression. It was during this internship that I discovered and developed a keen interest in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), inspired by my desire to support individuals with autism and other developmental delays.
My journey in behaviour analysis began at an ABA clinic where I worked directly with children aged 2 to 12, with varying diagnoses from Autism to Cerebral Palsy, providing individualised therapy based on their unique strengths and needs. This hands-on experience, which involved multiple clients daily on both a 1:1 basis and small group, solidified my passion for behaviour analysis and its transformative impact on lives. While I loved working directly with children, I aspired to take a more active role in program development and enrolled on the Master of Science in Behaviour Analysis and Therapy course at the University of South Wales. During my Master’s studies, I joined Skybound Therapies as a Trainee Behaviour Analyst. At Skybound, I work with clients ranging in age from 2 and a half to 19 years, supporting individuals with a variety of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fragile X syndrome, ADHD, and Generalised Anxiety Disorder, among others. In February 2024, I became an ABA Supervisor, where I am responsible for overseeing the implementation of programmes and behaviour support plan (BSP) through comprehensive staff training and data analysis. I collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of effective and cohesive support for our client.
Through my academic and professional journey, I have cultivated a deep commitment to using individualised evidence-based approaches to make meaningful differences in the lives of others, whilst making therapy equally as fun and engaging for all clients and therapists. As a supervisor and therapist, my proudest moments are those in which I witness clients acquiring or mastering skills that are socially significant for them. These milestones include them learning to communicate by vocalising words or phrases, as well as enriching their lives by having them participate in meaningful activities such as going to football matches and boxing. Witnessing these client achievements and the positive impact our team creates through our consistent application of behavioural science is what I find most rewarding and fulfilling in my work.
