Born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire, I studied Primary Education at Liverpool John Moores University. It was here I first worked with children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. This was whilst volunteering at a specialist school, for an art project as part of the Capital of Culture 2008. I relocated to Pembrokeshire in 2010 with my small family and started working part-time in a residential care home. Here I discovered a passion for health and social care. For the next 6 years I worked in various care settings experiencing a wide variety of care needs, from younger adults with mental health needs to older adults with physical and mental health needs, and most things in between.
In 2016 I returned to the residential home I originally worked for. Here I gained a number of different qualifications including the Level 3 education and training award enabling me to teach post 16. In 2020 when the covid-19 pandemic hit, I was working as the training coordinator and staff liaison officer. I chose to then undertake my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Social Care, to assist the Registered Manager with the running of the home.
I joined Skybound Therapies in September 2023 as Registered Manager and I am fast learning all about ABA and how it can be applied to help the lives of children with developmental disabilities. I am Mum to two amazing children and love nothing more than spending time with them exploring and making memories.
