I live in Pembrokeshire with my partner and our labrador, Maple. I enjoy reading, going to concerts and exploring nature. I have only recently returned to Pembrokeshire as I had been away studying and working but I am very happy to be back home. Following completing my degree, I chose to further develop my knowledge by completing my Masters in Child Psychology. I spent a lot of time volunteering for my placement at Caudwell Children’s charity who support children with SEN and disabilities and their families. It was here that I learned how much of an impact this support has. After completing my Masters I worked in an SEN school and absolutely loved my time there. I knew that this was the direction I wanted to go, however, at this time I had little exposure to Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
I decided to relocate back to Pembrokeshire so I could be close to family, and I missed the beautiful scenery. When job hunting I knew I wanted a career where I could utilise my degree and experience and also be able to continue learning and developing my knowledge. This is when I discovered Skybound! Being part of the team at Skybound has enabled me to have a meaningful impact on the individuals and their families. This has been so rewarding seeing them gain confidence and grow their skills.
Working at Skybound has allowed me to build on my previous knowledge and experience through completing my training to become a Registered Behaviour Technician. This has massively helped me to understand how important the underpinning knowledge and techniques are to successful interventions. Not only does this benefit the individual’s interventions but has also allowed me to build meaningful relationships with them. I am excited to keep learning about ABA and see what my future holds with Skybound. I love seeing our team grow and I am in awe of everything Skybound has achieved and helped others achieve in such a short period of time. I am so proud to be a Skybounder and can’t wait to help change more lives.
